Another Autumn, Another Beginning

(Thomas Trail — October 30, 2026)

Today, October 31, 2026, marks the thirteenth anniversary of my English poem Autumn, written on a quiet trail in a suburban area of Ohio. Many of my early poems were born along this trail, which I affectionately call “Thomas Trail.”

It also marks the launch of www.RealTangRen.com, a new home for my writing.

Thirteen years have passed. Another autumn, another beginning.

I would like to begin this new journey by sharing one of my early poems.

Autumn

Hey Autumn, who paints your colors?
Why are you so hasty every year?
I hear your melody
And see the glance of your eyes
Come, let us have a drink
To celebrate your visit
I want to have your golden smile

The sky is high, birds fly
My life like the river is calm and quiet
Where are you from?
Will you stay in my life?
I feel like dancing with you
To the tempo of falling leaves

Every season has its own color
You’re the one who shows
The characteristics of maturity
May your spirit keep my heart forever young
I would like to greet Winter with your love song

Original Note — October 31, 2013

It is late autumn. What an astonishingly beautiful world! It looks like an oil painting. Autumn is to a year as the Sunset is to a day, it is beautiful but does not last very long. Those flying leaves will soon become snowflakes. The scenery of the world will completely change within a few weeks. This is life. Can we accept its change and keep our spirit high?
